PLDT reinvents the Landline. Introduces the TELPAD.

YES. It's a tablet. But wait, there's more!

"Enter the PLDT TelPad. A world first, its conception, design, and construction was done in the Philippine’s own backyard. It combines the traditional landline that has been connecting Filipinos everywhere with cutting edge new digital technology to provide a multi-functional digital communication device that seems to pop right out of a popular science fiction movie.
The device itself is a merging of old and new technology with a build somewhat reminiscent of a fax machine. The traditional handset can be found at the left of the device, while the touchscreen display is actually a docked 7-inch android based tablet."

The tablet sports it's own custom user interface and works like a regular tablet. It houses a 1ghz processor, Android 2.2, 2gb built in storage, an SD expansion slot, a Usb Slot, and a 2megapixel camera.

Now we're talking about the future. It's kinda like those touchscreen phones you see in movies except that this time it's real and can be found in the common home. It functions like a regular telephone but now you can also go for video conferences and calls because it's hooked up to the internet!

Awesome ain't it?

But the big question is. Is this the end of the line for landlines?
